This page includes links to all member organizations of the Domestic Violence Resource Network (DVRN) in addition to an important sister organization, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. The DVRN works to strengthen the existing support systems serving battered women, their children and other victims of domestic violence. Each resource center partners with community-based domestic violence programs, state coalitions, federal, state and local government agencies, Indian tribal organizations, policy makers and others involved in assisting victims of domestic violence to identify and respond to emerging information and technical assistance gaps.



NATIONAL RESOURCE CENTERS

National Resource Center on Domestic Violence
Provides comprehensive information and resources, policy development and technical assistance designed to enhance community response to and prevention of domestic violence. (800) 537-2238

Battered Women's Justice Project:

  1. Criminal Center - 800-903-0111 ext. 1
    Addressing the criminal justice system's response to domestic violence including the development of batterers' programs.

  2. Civil Center - 800-903-0111 ext. 2
    Addressing civil court access and legal representation issues of battered women.

  3. Self-Defense Center - 800-903-0111 ext. 3
    Assists battered women charged with crimes and members of their defense teams.
Health Resource Center on Domestic Violence
Provides resource and training material, technical assistance, information and referrals, and models for local, state and national health policy-making to support those interested in developing a comprehensive health care response. (415) 252-8900

National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma & Mental Health
A project of the Domestic Violence & Mental Health Policy Initiative, the Center is a national technical assistance project designed to cultivate a deeper understanding about the mental health and advocacy needs of survivors of domestic violence and their children and the impact of trauma on individual healing and social change. Resource Center on Domestic Violence: Child Protection and Custody
Provides information, materials consultation, and technical assistance related to child protection and custody within the context of domestic violence.

Sacred Circle: Native Resource Center to End Violence Against Native Women
Provides technical assistance, policy development, training institutes, and resource information regarding domestic violence and sexual assault to develop coordinated agency response in American Indian/ Alaska Native tribal communities. (877) 733-7623

National Sexual Violence Violence Resource Center (NSVRC)
Established in October 1999 and opened June 2000, the NSVRC provides resources (information, technical assistance and materials) to national organizations, state sexual assault coalitions, community-based programs and allied organizations. NSVRC's broad goals are to:
1) strengthen the support system serving sexual assault survivors by enhancing the capacity of sexual assault providers at the national, state and community level;
2) Provide information and technical assistance to support effective interventions in preventing sexual violence; and,
3) Identify emerging policy issues and research needs to support the development of policy and practice specific to the intervention and prevention of sexual violence.

Alianza: The National Latino Alliance for the Elimination of Domestic Violence - 800-342-9908  
The National Latino Alliance for the Elimination of Domestic Violence (Alianza) is part of a national effort to address the domestic violence needs and concerns of under-served populations. It represents a growing network of Latina and Latino advocates, practitioners, researchers, community activists, and survivors of domestic violence.


Asian and Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence - 415-954-9988
The Asian & Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence is a national network of advocates; community members; professionals from health, mental health, law, education, and social services; survivors; scholars; researchers; and activists from public policy, community organizations, youth programs, immigrants’ rights networks, communities of color, women’s groups, lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender communities, and other social justice organizations. We serve as a forum for, and clearinghouse on information, research, resources and critical issues about violence against women in Asian and Pacific Islander communities.


Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community - 877-643-8222
The Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community (IDVAAC) is an organization focused on the unique circumstances of African Americans as they face issues related to domestic violence – including intimate partner violence, child abuse, elder maltreatment, and community violence. IDVAAC's mission is to enhance society's understanding of and ability to end violence in the African-American community.

National Domestic Violence Hotline
Connects individuals to help in their area using a nationwide database that includes detailed information on domestic violence shelters, other emergency shelters, legal advocacy and assistance programs, and social service programs. One call summons immediate help, in English or Spanish, 24 hours a day, seven days each week. Interpreters available to translate an additional 139 languages.
